Hello Midwest Junk Peeps…
Guess what? The Midwest Junk “triplets” are in Des Moines, Iowa together! Laura and I made the trek from Fargo and Dan came from Milwaukee with his beautiful wife Chelsey.
We’ve been checking out a fabulous event called Junk Jubliee, which is in its second year. We’ve chatted with many of the more than 80 vendors and we’ve even had some time to pick out some fabulous junk finds of our own.
We fell in love with the creations at Histories, a furniture and home accessories company out of Prairie du Sac, Wisc. Tracie and Lee Anderson are fabulous to visit with and just look at the beautiful items they create! See that table? It has a reclaimed bowling lane for the top, storage on each end and would make a fantastic kitchen island.

Want to know what’s BIG? Letters. We saw letters of every shape, size, color and material around the show this year and we just LOVE them. Use them to spell out a word or just pick a meaningful letter and display it in your home or office.

Another fun trend we’re spotting are keys! Keys are everywhere for decorating and used in jewelry mixed with bling and other accessories.
Another trend we found at Junk Jubliee was the sale of vintage feed bags, flour and sugar sacks. Many could be purchased on their own for around $8 and you could use them for projects or home decor if they said something significant. But if you didn’t want to do the work, you could pick up some awesome pillows that are ready to pick up and take home.
