Spicing Up Your Craft Area

I spotted a pair of loved spice racks at an estate sale months ago. They’ve been sitting on my “to do” list since then because I was dreading the process of cleaning them out. I think you can see why. Ugh.

Well I finally tackled the project the other day and I’m so glad I did. Let me show you the process…

The first thing I did was use a white primer on the spice rack.

After the primer dried I put a coat of Rust-Oleum Aqua on it – I love the pop of color it provides.

I dumped all the spices into the garbage and then I put the glass spice containers into the dishwasher. I washed them on “Gentle” (China setting) and I did not dry them with heat. I did this because I wanted to save the labels that were on the front of each little jar.

Don’t these clean little jars look great paired with the cool blue?!

Inside the jars I’m putting crafty supplies like glitter and photo corners.

Here is the finished product! I still have plenty of room for supplies, but I’m just tickled with how this turned out!

What color should I paint the other one?
