Terrariums

Last summer, I decided I wanted to make a terrarium.  But, because I get a little overzealous when starting new projects, instead of using one glass vessel and making ONE terrarium, I bought a bunch of vessels at thrift and antique stores.  Apparently I thought I was starting a terrarium factory or something.

So, then I gathered up my supplies and of course, more plants than I knew what to do with, and got started.  In the process, I ran across a box in the basement that was perfect for this project.  You see, when I was little, my grandma had a glass doll house full of all sorts of wonderful mini furniture and accessories.  (Sadly, that once very special doll house is homeless and is currently renting space in my closet.)  The box I found is full of those adorable accessories, and I pulled out a few pieces that caught my eye, like this cute little gold bicycle.  I love the touch of whimsy it gives to the tiny environment.

I also love little deer inside the terrariums.  They’re just so cute!  I found this one at a garage sale.

It’s fun to find new uses for my junking finds!
