Some of you have likely seen a photo – or multiple photos – of this cute headboard already. God knows I’ve been flashing images around like their pictures of my child. I just think it turned out really cute. :)

Let me tell you how this all came together. This is a vintage full size headboard and foot board with rails. It has been painted with the same paint mixture as our fabulous worldly bookcase, that is a mixture of leftover latex wall paint, Plaster of Paris and a splash of water, and applied  with a brush. The mixture allows the paint to dry faster.

The letters are individual vinyl letters purchased in an alphabet set from Hobby Lobby.  I love the Disney lyrics “A dream is a wish your heart makes.” I added to that some wooden stars that had been painted with glitter spray paint – gotta have bling on a headboard like this.

I still felt like it was missing something so one my search through the craft store I found the fantastic cloud-like trim that graces the head and foot boards. I painted it white and loved how it had the feel of clouds when the phrase is talking about dreams. Ahhhh. Makes me want to take a nap right now.
