Coffee Table Makeover

My mom picked up this cute little coffee table for me while she was out being a thrifty shopper one day. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with it, but I did have a painting technique I had seen on television and wanted to try. The scrolling on the table was the perfect place to try it out.

Using a bristle brush I lightly painted the scrolling so that the black would show through. It was kind of a messy process but once it dried, I really liked how it contrasted with the rest of the piece.

On the light colored table top I added chalkboard paint. I like the sharp black look of it on the table and also like that it adds another function to the piece.

Here’s the finished table in a cute living room set up!
