A Super Hip Repurposed Window

A friend of mine posted on Facebook today that she needed to part with a couple of three pane vintage 1922 windows. On my way over to see her (Hi Julie!) I stopped at the hardware store and picked up some fabulous yellow paint. I already had a plan that was starting to take shape in my head.

Here’s what I started with. This is the front of the window on my awesome pink drop cloth. The top pane of the window had a crack, so I broke out the top two to keep in line with my plan.

Here’s the window after a coat of the awesome yellow. The color is called Band of Gold and it’s from Ace Hardware.

This is the back of the window. I cut chicken wire to fit in the two open windows and used a staple gun to attach it. I LOVE my staple gun. I think you need one.

I picked up some amazing vintage fabric at a church basement rummage sale that I went to on a whim last weekend. I think it was meant to be. I can’t believe how this came together.

Look at the fabric! Ahhh! I also had these vinyl letters that I was saving for a rainy (or snowy) day so I used those on the front of the glass.

And here is the finished product. I am so happy that I just giggle when I look at it. Hope you like it too.

Just spend a fortune reglazing windows (DON’T love them), made to order for my home and guess it is nice looking out the wavy glass on beautiful foggy, wintry morning.
